Tip #1 Selecting A Company to Buy A Portable Restroom Trailer From
This can be quite challenging because there are so many places that make great restroom trailers. Here at First Class Mobile Restrooms, we researched about 10-15 companies. Then we narrowed our list down to four. After careful consideration, we Then eventually 2 and then we made our final decision. We decided to go with Lang restroom trailers based in Latrobe, PA.
We chose Lang for several reasons. The first reason was Lang makes excellent restrooms trailers with superb craftsmanship and parts. Not only that, but they stand behind their products. When you research Lang, one of the first things you'll continue to see is their excellent customer reviews. There are also several customer review videos about Lang restroom trailers on youtube. What sealed the deal for us to purchase from Lang is when we called them and spoke to Steve. One of the first things we mentioned to Steve is that this is our first time venturing into the portable restoom business and we don't know a thing about it. Steve took the time to explain the crux of the business to in such a way that a baby could understand him. He never pressured us into purchasing from he. He was always professional, kind and courteous. On top of that, we called him or emailed him almost everyday for two weeks asking him more questions about the business. If he was busy, he would always return our call promptly. The same for emails. After speaking with Steve, we no longer felt like a customer but like Lang family. Even after purchasing our restroom trailer from Lang, we still call them from time to time and they always return our call, emails or texts. At the end of the day, the decision is yours to decide what company you will purchase your restroom trailer from. But First Class Mobile Restrooms is here to tell you that you can't go wrong with Lang.
Tip #2 Selecting A Truck to Pull The Restroom Trailer
Well, the trailer won't get to its destination by itself, so how is it going to get there? A truck that's how. We know that there are many different types of truck on the market. When doing your research on what truck to use to pull your restroom trailer, first determine what size restroom trailer you want and how many pounds does it weigh? For example, the restroom trailer we have is a 4 station restroom that weighs 4,640 lbs. empty. It has a 105 gallon fresh water tank and 350 gallan waste tank. One gallon of water weighs 8 lbs. So if the 105 gallon fresh water tank is full (8x105) that will ad an extra 840 lbs. If the 350 gallon waste tank is full (8x350) that will ad another another 2,800 lbs to the restroom trailer. Now lets at 4,640 + 805+2800. That comes out to 8,254 lbs max weight of our restroom trailer. So when deciding on which truck to get to pull the restroom trailer, we knew we would need a truck that could pull 8200 lbs with no sweat. After researching trucks we decided that the Chevy 3500 gas, dual real wheel drive would be the best suited truck for us. Yes a Chevy 2500 could easily pull our restroom trailer just as well, but we decided on the 3500 because our goal is to get another much larger restroom trailer in the future.
Tip #3 Adding Vinyl Lettering to Your Restroom Trailer
This is a controversial topic. We live in an age were branding, advertising and marketing are very important. One of the best ways to brand, advertise and market your restroom trailer is to ad vinyl lettering to it. This can consist of your name, logo, website and phone number. We business owners seem to disagree is the size of your vinyl lettering. Some businesses are of the opinion that your lettering should not be too large, but rather small and discreet. At First Class Mobile Restrooms our opinion on vinyl lettering is the opposite. We believe that the larger your name, logo, website and other information is on your restroom trailer, the better. Our outlook is that your restroom trailer is not only just a restroom trailer but a rolling billboard. In other words when you are delivering your restroom trailer to a client, people are watching and reading your informmation on your trailer. It's a perfect way to advertise and market your restroom for free.
In other words, the larger the lettering the more people can see your restroom from a distance. Once again, your restroom trailer is a rolling billboard. Why would you want people to struggle to see what your business name and contact information is? When we first received our restroom back from the vinyl lettering company, one of the first things we did was drive around town on the busy streets. We quickly noticed an increase in web traffice and phone calls. Some customers called us while we were driving around town just to inquire abour availability and pricing. So when you decided to add your vinyl lettering, go big!
Tip #4 Get a Website
There is on old saying that goes "you can have the best product in the world but if nobody knows about it you have nothing." This is very true. This is why your website is so important because it is going to advertise your restroom trailer for you 24/7. At First Class Mobile Restrooms we use Wix as our website host. Wix gives us the ability to not only host our website but to send quotes, invoices and accept all credit card and other payments such an Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.
Tip #5 Advertise Using Google Ads
This is another controversial topic. When it comes to Google Ads, people have mixed feelings about it. Some say it's a waste of money while others say it's one of the best ways to increase your business revenue. But one thing that we all can agree on is that roughly 82% of all internet searches are done through Google. That my friend makes Google and Google Ads a tough act to beat. Can your business be succesful without Google Ad? Yes! But what makes Google Ads so appealing is that has the ability to rank your business higher than your competitors in Internet searches. Imagine a bus stopping by and picking up customer who are ready to spend money and bringing them straight to your business. Unkike other forms of advertising such as television, radio or Facebook Ads, people that use Google Ads are ready to purchase now. That's why they use Google search engine. That's the power of Google Ads. What we have experienced at First Class Mobile Restrooms is that when we advertise on Google Ads we get more web traffic and an increase in sales. We also noticed that when we do not adverstise on Google Ads, we see a decrease in web traffic and a decrease in sales. So for us, it's a no brainer. We love Google Ads.
